Prayer and Share
Once a month we gather online for Prayer and Share, an open invitation to meet with sisters and brothers in Christ from the Nordkirche and the Dioceses of Durham, Ely, and Lichfield. We begin by sharing what is happening in our lives and ministries, offering one another encouragement and support.
Together we then reflect on a Bible passage—read in both German and English—listening for what God might be saying to us through Scripture. Our time concludes with open prayer, holding before God the joys and challenges we have shared.
Language is never a barrier. Whether you speak German, English, or both, you are warmly welcome to join us as we grow together in faith, friendship, and fellowship.
Upcoming dates can be found here.
Prayer Diary
Prayer is the foundation of our shared faith and the thread that holds our partnership together. This prayer diary is offered as a simple way for us to support one another each month – lifting before God the people, ministries, joys, and challenges across our four dioceses. As we pray, may we grow in compassion, deepen our fellowship, and remain attentive to the work of the Holy Spirit among us.
At our meeting in May 2026, we collected our prayers for the world and for the link between our churches:
- Bitte für alle, die in unseren Kirchen in Ausbildung sind und sich nach einem weiten Horizont für Ihren Glauben sehnen.
- Thank you, God, for the reconciliation work between Great Britain and Germany and our present friendship.
- I pray for our minds to be open so we may accept diversity among our midst.
- I am praying for a well-working partnership between the Dioceses of Ely, Durham and Lichfield and the Nordkirche.
- Help us bind our activities together, to share our ideas and gain more people to join our partnership. Be with us on our way!
- Father God, we give you thanks for our unity in faith. Help us to grow in faith as we deepen our relationship with each other and with you. AMEN
- Almighty Father, thank you for this beautiful evening of coming together in the unity of Christ, our King. Let our partnership and link grow with deeper understanding of each other as well as ourselves and our church, your one holy catholic and apostolic church, we all are part of. Through Jesus Christus, your son, our Lord.
