The Christ Church Parish Düneberg belongs to the church district of Lübeck-Lauenburg. It is situated in the town of Geesthacht on the banks of the river Elbe, east of Hamburg. Soon the parish will unite with the St. Thomas-Parish in Grünhof/Tesperhude to become the Christopherus-Parish. As the Christ Church is closely interacting with the civil society in a fast-growing town, there are many events organized and celebrated together: the world women’s day, Equal Pay Day, the Fair-Trade Week or the town bike event. There is a cooperation with the organization “partnership Africa” and with the schools in the different parts of the town. The Christ Church Parish is looking forward to participating in the Church Climate Action Partnership, to contribute to a changed perspective on both sides – the parish is open to learn from the global South.
